Jim Egan is a member of the litigation team at Kryger, Alexander, Egan & Elmer, P.C. He is a trial lawyer who specializes in Workers' Compensation, Personal Injury, and Employment Discrimination cases. Born in Lebanon, Oregon, Jim grew up in Tangent and Albany graduating from West Albany High School. He started at Oregon State University and later transferred to Willamette University where he graduated with a degree in Political Science and Economics in 1979.
Jim joined the Marine Corps in 1978 and he accepted his commission in 1979. After three years on active duty, he returned home to attend law school at the University of Oregon. During his years in law school, Jim remained active in community affairs, local politics, and the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He graduated law school and was admitted to the Oregon State Bar Association in 1985.
Jim started as an associate at Emmons, Kyle, Kropp, Kryger, and Alexander, P.C. in the fall of 1985. He became a shareholder in January 1989. He is active in the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and sits on the Board of Governors. His areas of emphasis are workers' compensation, personal injury, and employment discrimination. He gives ordinary people extraordinary representation against insurance companies, corporations, and governmental interests.
Jim has been active in the local politics since 1970. He has been elected and appointed to Central Committees, Planning Commissions, and Boards of Directors in the City of Tangent, Linn County, and the State of Oregon. He has served as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice Chair, and Chairman of the Linn County Bar Association and as Treasurer of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Oregon State Bar Association.
Jim and Vickie Egan have been married since 1975. They have five children (three in graduate school and college). They make their home in Tangent, Oregon.
